The Vascular Surgery Interest Group (VSIG) at VCU was founded in September of 2015 by Dr. Michael Amendola and his mentees: Grayson Pitcher, Gi-Ann A. Acosta, and Kaila Redifer. The idea to start this organization was struck during an impromptu meeting where like-minded individuals interested in Vascular Surgery came together to pursue research endeavors in the field.
We are a student led organization dedicated to promoting the field of vascular surgery among VCU medical students and the community at large. Our VSIG is committed to providing research, shadowing, and, mentorship opportunities for our members, while fostering community relationships through outreach and engagement.
In June of 2016, we launched this website known as Vascular Coast to Coast. It contains podcasts featuring interviews of leaders in the field of vascular surgery and beyond, a vascular surgery blog, and information regarding our research endeavors.
VSIG at VCU strives to provide a framework of clinical skills and knowledge for aspiring vascular surgeons.
